Got Problems?

A few weeks ago, my sister Jane reminded me of a quote she had come across that speaks to me today:

Tell God about your problems.
Then tell your problems about God.

Which conversation is longer defines which is bigger in your life, problems or God.
The answer also defines you.

Talk with God about your problems and you will feel better.
Talk to your problems about such a great God and you will be better.

That’s a great quote, Bryan. I keep reflecting on Doc’s wise comment that if we mixed our problems in a bag with others’, that we’d take back our own troubles every time. Taking that thought further, how much more grateful and compassionate would we be? Edith and I were just discussing the false impression that our lives on this earth are to be trouble-free. But this earth is not home. It’s the journey, the pilgrim’s Progress. We’d better be learning something along the way! Thank you for your insights. I look forward to your blog every day. Love Elizabeth

Doc Stookey’s quote was a good one. Your extension of that to gratitude and compassion is also astute. I wonder how humbled we would be if we put all our THANKS in a bag and stirred them up with everyone else’s. “I’m thankful for my new iPad” versus “I’M thankful I had food to eat today.”

Right you are, this is not our home, it is our journey to our real home. Thanks for sharing!
